Workers' Compensation - Can I change doctors?
In general, you do not get to pick the doctor that you see following a workplace related injury if you are pursuing worker’s compensation benefits.
However, Florida state statute does allow you to formally request another doctor one time during the course of your treatment. In order to do this, you must submit the request in writing to the insurance company. They have five days to respond. If they do not, then you will get to pick whatever doctor you like.
It is strongly recommended that you hire an experienced worker’s compensation attorney if you would like to attempt to switch worker’s compensation doctors.
